Urban Summit Announced - April 14-17, 2003

The Miami-Dade Task Force on Urban Economic Revitalization has announced " The Urban Summit". It will be a four-day conference intended to provide a unique platform for national policy advisors, elected officials and business owners to collaborate and develop a long-term public private strategic plan for Miami-Dade's Target Urban Areas (TUAs). The TUAs consist of thirty-one distressed areas, including Overtown, Liberty City, Opa Locka, Coconut Grove, and Florida City. The Summit will provide a platform for developers, investors, business owners, elected officials and concerned citizens to analyze current economic development trends for their effectiveness in creating jobs, attracting capital investments and business development.

The Summit will feature some of the nation's leading experts in critical areas such as community development and commercial revitalization. Summit registration is $25 for advance registration and $30 for on-site registration. The registration fee covers the four days. Lunch will be included in the morning sessions starting at noon.
